Proverbs 27:19:
The whole of the subject in this Chapter is the caprice of mankind (male and female)!
In the Bible the heart is considered the seat of life or strength. Hence, it means mind, soul, spirit, or one's entire emotional nature and understanding.
In Jeremiah, God laments this condition, which is a result of Eden’s fall! Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
The answer is that only Almighty God can look upon the heart of mankind; and His statement regarding King David is expressive of this:
The Bible calls David “a man after God's own heart” twice. The first time was by Samuel who anointed him as backslidden King Saul's successor, “But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart” (1Sam. 13:14, NKJV).
God repeated this in 1Sam.16:7!
This shows that God in His Power knows the future of each person, based on His seeing the heart!
Proverbs16:5: “Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished”.
The first verse gives the clue. “The preparations”, are the thinking’s of mankind, which with the natural fallen nature, leads mostly to, ‘not good actions’! See the world’s wars, which have been going on for millennia! See the actions of mankind all the time! These are under the control most of the time of Satan!
The “proud” heart is a product of the enemy, Satan!
The very opposite is seen in Psalm. 51:17; “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart- These O God, You will not despise”!
To summarise; V.1 of Provervbs16 gives the conclusion; “The preparations of the heart belongs to man. But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord”!
For mankind to move towards that lofty premise, is life's work; in the full knowledge that Christ Jesus has the victory in His death and resurrection!
Question: What does “Trust in the Lord who Saves” Biblically mean?
It means to “Trust” in the Saving Work of Jesus The Christ of Almighty God, Who took on human form to Save humankind, to all who will “see” and respond to His “Death, Resurrection, and ultimate “Return to Earth” to end the terrible evil of mankind Propagated by Satan”!
The beginning of this world's evil scheme was allowed by God the Father when He was challenged by His own “most beautiful created being” Lucifer (Morning Star); whose name was changed to Satan (Adversary), and within the “rules of engagement” the battle began.
Many people say, so as to excuse their own refusal to accept God’s Love in the above described, that a “God of Love” would never allow such suffering and horror as is evident in this world’s present state!
That response is understandable initially, but when the ULTIMATE Love of God is seen and perceived in the pages of the Bible, starting at (Gen. 3:15) and in the experience of the Holy Spirit via the “Comforter”, which can be a short time or a lengthy period, depending on the person and the Plan of God for the individual; then the Glory of God’s Love for mankind in the Sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord, become all-consuming, towards the eventual one to One union with the Lord Jesus!
